We are a small company selling unusual decorated Bed Linens, Quilts and Cotton Nighties for ladies and little girls. (And pyjamas for the fellows!). We have a range of carefully selected clothes and gifts for babies and children including delightful soft toys and items for the nursery.

You can meet us up and down the country at all manner of events and shows. We are modern day pedlars - taking our goods to the people wherever they are! Meeting our customers means we listen to their needs, and supply what they cannot find, at affordable prices.

How do we choose our products?

We love beautiful things and natural products, made from good quality fabrics and 100% cotton.

We believe in honouring workmanship and endeavour.

We always seek out well made original and decorative items where the textile may be particularly soft and lasting as in our Egyptian cotton sheeting for example or our deliciously soft cotton nighties.

We like to support small family companies who are prepared to retain high skills of craftsmanship without compromise.

English Rose Linens

In September 2015 we launched our NEW website and not only that, our NEW name. We are absolutely the same under the covers but we felt we needed a new look! So we have pressed the Refresh button, taken some lovely pictures, in the Summer in England and also in Tuscany and off we go on a new journey!

We hope you like the new look and the new name. The latter, the name English Rose Linens we feel reflects more what we have become over the years. It also enables us to promote English Companies. As from now the website will be ever changing with new products being added all the time.

So it is worth keeping an eye on us!

Out Of The Orient...

...started life in 1987 in a very minute way. Judith Brooksbank, its owner - enjoying the then considerable benefits of being an "Airline Wife" - would travel frequently to Hong Kong. After visits round the numerous markets, bags and pockets would be filled with trophies, and distributed among friends on her return. What fun it was!

This habit gained momentum, covering various Eastern delights, until she discovered the beautifully decorated linen - all exquisitely embroidered by hand with perfect workmanship.

At that moment, fired with the love of textiles, Out of the Orient was born.
